Calm before the storm "Thunder and Lightning"

WBC welterweight Champion, Arturo Gatti [ W39 30kos L6 ] and trainer, Buddy Mc Girt are quietly confident of a strong win this weekend and also expose boxing supremo, "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather [ W33 kos22 ] as just another good fighter who dosent have a chin. Are they crazy?

Team Gatti believe that Mayweather will buckle bigtime when Gatti lands his famous left hook and then go to the body just for fun. Gatti has been training intensely at his usual training camp , down in Florida, and laughing off the pre fight predictions of a Mayweather punch and run win.

No doubt about it, Gatti will be the naturally bigger man on the night, and if it becomes a war on the inside, then Gatti could do a number on "The Pretty Boy". Mayweather is a smart , well schooled boxer who knows what has made him millions of dollars over the years, and its just not going to happen. Mayweather will use his speed , and jab out the slugger turned boxer Gatti, then target his body with fearsome , blinding combinations to break down Gatti in the second half of the fight. Am i crazy?

Mc Girt and Gatti have , no doubt watched Mayweathers last few fights and their reasoning seems concievable . Since moving up, Mayweather has kept his speed, but some of his devastating power seems to have gone, and in his 2004 outing with Demarcus "ChopChop " Corley, he was rocked to his boots and was forced back from the centre of the ring on numerous occasions. In saying that , Mayweather came back firing, to win convincingly. Mc Girt will also be taking note, in his recent fights with N'dou and Brusseles, that Mayweathers brittle hands could flare up at any given moment in this fight with Gatti.

Mayweathers uncle Roger will also be watching the tapes of Gatti's last few fights, and they will see what everyone in boxing knows, Gatti dosent take a good shot to the body, and they will be working on that in the gym.
Also Gatti, when he feels he is losing , or is frustrated, goes automatically back to brawling, to try and get back in the fight. He loses his composure, and they will also be working on that in the gym. Since winning the WBC title from Branco on points, in 2004, he hasn't had the hardest fights in the world. Leo "The Lion" Dorin was too small for the weight and Gatti almost broke him in half inside two rounds. In his fight with the veteran, Jesse James Leija, Gatti convinced him to retire in the ring with a barrage of punches and a whisper in his ear.

Mayweather has been surprizingly quiet, and has been training hard in Las Vegas. The hip hop squad is still there, there still strutting along the Strip, but team "Pretty Boy" have been quiet, in the build up to this mega fight. With the winner assured a fight with Englands , Ricky Hatton, in what will be another mega money spinner, or even another step up in weight to fight Zab Judah.

Gatti is confident in his abilities, of the past. Mayweather is confident of the future, and there is an unbelievable calm before the storm in Atlantic City.
