Bruising.
The publishers should have left the title right there, without
elaborating ("Journey through gender") for a perceived
feminist target market. If you're looking for some esoteric
excursion into the emancipated female psyche, you won't find
it here. It's not even about women's boxing.
This is a book about the essence of boxing.
About how it feels, and what it means. While "Bruising"
certainly reflects a very personal journey, Mischa Merz skillfully
transcends gender and gives a fresh and entertaining new perspective
on the "Sweet Science".
